I woke up this morning and started my day off with my daily routine. A cup of coffee, bagel and cream cheese, yogurt and the online version of the Star Tribune. I couldn’t believe my eyes!!! Well actually I could but it was still pretty shocking.

I’ve been a long time supporter of fighting in hockey but I’m starting to rethink my position. Maybe it’s me getting older but I’d say it’s more due to the reason incidences in minor hockey such as the one above. Perhaps the question we should be asking ourselves is “would I still watch, follow and love hockey as much as I do now if fighting was taken out of the game?”. I know the answer for me is simple. Of course I would.

The debate will certainly continue but hopefully while we’re debating incidences like these won’t happen again.
